Catherine Bovill from the University of Edinburgh will teach two courses and conduct research at Elon

Carpenter shared his research about the use of social media as a teacher education tool in the Distinguished Scholar Award lecture on Oct. 14.

Associate Professor of Education Jeffrey Carpenter, who heads the Teaching Fellows program, delivered the 2019-20 Distinguished Scholar Award lecture on Monday, Oct. 14. He offered an overview of his research into how teachers use social media as a professional development tool and to build connections with colleagues around the globe.

The teacher induction ceremony in the School of Education marks a milestone in the academic journey of teacher candidates. On Sept. 19, a new cohort of 58 teacher candidates were inducted into the teacher education program.

Jeffrey Carpenter, associate professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program, published the article in the peer-reviewed journal Teaching and Teacher Education.
