The school hosted its annual awards ceremony on May 5 to recognize high achievement from students and faculty during the past academic year.

 

Jeffrey Carpenter, assistant professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program, published the article in the journal Educational Leadership.

Jenna Mason ’16, a special education and middle grades education double major from Wilton, CT, will spend a year teaching English in Thailand as part of a federal program that promotes mutual understanding and good will between U.S. citizens and citizens of other nations.

A total of 35 undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education were inducted into the international honor society in education April 28, 2016.

Elon’s Village Project is now operating at five local public schools with help from many student groups including athletics, Fellows and fraternities.

Morgan Goldstein ‘16, an elementary education and special education double major from Robbinsville, N.J., will travel to Spain in September as part of a federal program that builds good will between the United States and people of other nations.

The assistant professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program co-authored the article in the journal Teaching and Teacher Education.

Heidi Hollingsworth (EDU; Program Coordinator, Early Childhood Education) and Maureen Vandermaas-Peeler (PSY; Director, Center for Research on Global Engagement) co-authored an article on fostering inquiry-based teaching and learning with preschool teachers.
