Students in a summer sociology course had an opportunity this week to learn about recovery efforts in Iraq by interacting directly with an artist living in Baghdad who answered questions from them in an online chat.

The News & Record newspaper in Greensboro, N.C., published a column this weekend by sociology professor Tom Arcaro, who shared preliminary research into the stigma atheists feel when they publicly share their views on faith and religion.

Anne Bolin presented work titled “Secret Sexual Places as Sites of Embodied Renovation” at the Annual Meetings of the Society for Applied Anthropology in Santa Fe, N.M. from March 17-21.
