During the Winter Term, members of Elon Law's Leadership Fellows program initiated a canned food drive in support of Greensboro Urban Ministries, organizing the drive as a competition among teams of students in the course Lawyering, Leadership and Professionalism.

Chosen from a pool of 1,536 applicants, Elon Law students Keely Sewell, Benjamin Snyder, and Michael Sprague have been chosen to participate in the Equal Justice Works 2010 Summer Corps Program.

Elon Law's Public Interest Law Society provided its first-ever Public Interest Endowment Stipend to Class of 2011 member Nathan Standley in support of his internship with the Office of the Attorney General for the State of North Carolina during the summer of 2010.

Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) has recognized Class of 2011 Elon Law students Tiffany D. Atkins and Lucas Beal for outstanding contributions to the organization this summer.

On August 18, the Elon Law Class of 2013, along with second-year and third-year law students, participated in the fourth annual “Elon Law Reaches Out” community service day. During the event, more than 150 law students assisted the work of eleven nonprofit and educational organizations in the Greensboro community.

Elon Law students Whitney Butcher, Daniel Joyce, and Benjamin Snyder were featured in the August newsletter of the Legal Aid of North Carolina-Winston Salem Office, for contributions as law clerks at LANC serving individuals in the region who are unable to afford private legal representation.

On September 14, the Nathanael Greene Senate of Delta Theta Phi (DTP) held its fall initiation at Elon University School of Law in the Robert E. Long Courtroom. DTP was proud to welcome thirteen new members into its third pledge class.

Lu Johnson, a member of the Class of 2011 at Elon Law, was recently selected as a Senior Editor for The Southern Region Black Law Students Association Law Journal (SRBLSJ). The Journal, established in 2005, was created "as an answer to law students' and other professionals' concern of a lack of a representative voice for issues facing southern Blacks," its website states.

On September 22, Elon Law's William Hooper chapter of the professional law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta initiated its fourth pledge class. This year the chapter inducted its largest pledge class ever with sixty-five new members. Founded in March of 2009, Phi Alpha Delta now has a total membership of 130.
