The senior residence life administrator from Pitzer College began her new role at Elon on July 15.

A generous gift from Elon parents Clay and Cameron Smith P’22 will endow a scholarship in the Elon College Fellows program. Their gift is part of the Elon LEADS Campaign whose top priority is increasing scholarship funding.

Gerner was recognized by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators for excellence and leadership, including his critical role in two lifesaving incidents during 2021.

The 52nd class will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. inside Schar Center.
