paper "An Exploration of Themes: Mainland Chinese and American
Freshman Assimilation to University Life" at the joint meeting
of the Popular Culture Association and the American Culture Association
in San Antonio April 7-10.
The paper examines
Chinese and American students' journal responses to five thesis
statements regarding self identity; roommates and dormitory life;
missing home and family; apprehension; and academic challenges.
