Commencement rain plan
Avoid any last-minute delays and pick up your rain tickets at Alamance 109 before May 17.
In anticipation of any weather-related problems on Commencement day, the university has developed a rain plan.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, the exercises will be held in Alumni Gym. Each graduate will be limited to two guests.
You may pick up two rain location tickets in Alamance 109, the Office of the Vice President and Dean of Student Life by Thursday, May 17. You must have your Phoenix Card with you and request these tickets in person.
Regardless of the weather forecast, please be sure that on Saturday morning your rain location tickets are in the possession of the individuals who will use them.
If the weather is uncertain, please make sure to check E-net for any last minute announcements. Additionally, an automated weather update will be available by phone at 336-278-RAIN(7246), and the university switchboard (278-2000) will be open Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Guests who do not have seats in Alumni Gym will be able to view the Commencement exercises on closed circuit television at several campus locations. An explanation of the severe weather plan and a map identifying the locations for closed circuit viewing are available on the Commencement website.
