Volume 34, Issue 1: Foreword
We are honored to present this year’s edition of Issues in Political Economy, the oldest international undergraduate research journal in economics. As Co-Chief Editors, we had the privilege of overseeing a rigorous and competitive review process, and we are proud to share a collection of papers that reflect the rigor of undergraduate research.
This year, we were highly selective in our publication process. Each manuscript was evaluated through a double-blind review system, ensuring that only the most compelling and methodologically sound work was selected. The final issue showcases research that not only contributes meaningfully to the field of economics but also reflects a wide array of perspectives and approaches.
We are continually impressed by the dedication and intellectual curiosity of the submissions we receive. The publications demonstrates a level of sophistication that engages thoughtfully with some of the most pressing issues in economics today.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the referees at both Elon University and University of Mary Washington, faculty advisors, and all of the dedicated associate editors whose efforts made this publication possible. Their commitment to academic integrity and mentorship is the foundation of our journal’s success.
It has been a privilege to serve in this role and to contribute to the academic growth in the field. We hope you find this issue as insightful and inspiring as we have.
Sincerely,
Emma Leonard & Cole Meixsell
