          • Student Eligibility Requirements:
            • To be eligible for the Elon Academy, students must be a current 9th grader residing in or attending school in the Alamance-Burlington School System. Students must also meet at least one of the following criteria: A first-generation college student* OR demonstrate financial need.
              • *First-Generation College Student: A student whose parents did not obtain a 4-year college degree within the United States.

            • Nominate A Student Today: Elon Academy is seeking exceptional 9th grade students in the Alamance-Burlington School System who demonstrate academic promise, character, and a desire to pursue higher education. By submitting a nomination, you help us identify future scholars who will benefit from the encouragement, resources, and community of the Elon Academy!
            • Application Stages
              • Stage 1: Application Submission by February 1, 2026
              • Stage 2: Essay Submission and Group Interviews in Late February 2026
              • Stage 3: Individual Interviews in March 2026
              • Stage 4: Final Selection in April 2026

              • To officially apply for the 2026 Cohort of Elon Academy, complete the linked application below by February 1, 2026 at 6pm.
              • Students and parent/guardians will be prompted to complete their own designated sections of the application. Students should complete their sections independently, using their own thoughts and personal reflections to help us get to know them better. Outside assistance is not permitted.

            • Next Steps
              • All completed applications are reviewed by Elon Academy staff. Applicants will be notified by email regarding their application status. After applications have been reviewed, selected students will be invited to write an essay and participate in in-person group interviews at Elon University.
              • Those selected to move forward to the interview process, and those who are not selected to move forward will both receive a notification from the Elon Academy indicating their status.
