The Little Village

Aimed at pre-kindergarten children, the Little Village fosters children’s language development and emergent academic skills.

• Weekly support for Pre-K students’ language development & early academic skills.
• Occurs at the same time as the Big Village at Haw River Elementary in the Fall & Spring.
• During the spring semester we will invite Andrews and Eastlawn students to join the Haw River site to serve more children.
• Dinners are purchased from ABSS Child Nutrition and provided for students.
• Elon volunteers support the PreK teachers and build positive relationships with the students.
• ABSS provided the original grant funding for this program to begin.
• There is both a need and a desire for this program to expand to ease the transition to Kindergarten.
