Arts-Based Internships
Internships can be a vital part of our students’ creative and professional development. Many work with the Student Professional Development Center (SPDC) to prepare resumes, practice interviewing, and secure placements, while faculty provide individualized mentorship grounded in the close advising relationships built through our studio-intensive curriculum. These real-world experiences help students explore career paths, build confidence, and clarify future goals.
Our department emphasizes hands-on learning and continues to expand partnerships with local and regional arts organizations to offer meaningful, well-aligned internship opportunities. Recent placements have included roles in arts education, nonprofit arts administration, event production, and design firms. We also offer an in-house Art Department “Social Media Manager” internship.

Recent internship placements include:
- Greensboro Montessori – Arts Education and Expressive Arts
- Elon Elementary – Arts Education and Expressive Arts
- Los Angeles – Special Events, Content Creation, & PR
- Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art – Museum and Gallery Work
- Studio Assistantships with Professional Artists – Assisting with creative production and exhibition prep
