Juan Callejo '24 G'25
Juan Callejo ’24 G’25 knew Elon was the right fit from the moment he arrived on a golf-recruiting visit. The rising business talent from Madrid saw “steady growth and proven success” across campus and a community that made the fast pace of Division I athletics feel welcoming and manageable.
That balance of challenge and support allowed Callejo to complete his bachelor’s degree in just three years, maintain a 3.8 GPA and help the Phoenix capture the CAA Men’s Golf Championship—the program’s first conference title. Pre-dawn workouts, six-hour practices and night classes sharpened a discipline he now calls essential to modern business. “Adaptability and speed are how you make an impact,” he says, crediting mentors such as Coach Don Hill and Dean Haya Ajjan for illustrating the power of relationships and networking.
With one year of athletic eligibility remaining, Callejo moved directly into Elon’s accelerated M.S. in Business Analytics. The program’s pace and flexibility let him keep competing while diving deeper into data modeling, visualization and strategic decision-making. International Student Services helped him navigate work-authorization requirements, and campus events celebrating global cultures gave him “a piece of Spain” away from home.
Callejo now plans to launch his own venture and return to Elon as a recruiter. “I want to hire Phoenix graduates,” he says, “and I want to use the business insight and technical skills I gained here to lead with purpose and drive innovation wherever I go.”
Adaptability and speed are how you make an impact.
