The Master of Science in Accounting program will enroll annually in June.  Please submit all required application materials as early as possible prior to enrollment, but no later than March 15.  After March 15, applications are received until all spots are filled.

Admissions Requirements

For Elon undergraduate students and alumni
  • Applicants must have received a bachelor’s degree from Elon University OR have completed 70 or more credit hours and be currently enrolled at Elon University with a declared major of Accounting.
  • Non-accounting majors can apply if the applicant has met the following additional requirements:
    • Completion of appropriate Accounting and Business prerequisite coursework:
      • ACC 201: Principles of Accounting
      • ACC 331: Intermediate Accounting I
      • ACC 332: Intermediate Accounting II
      • ACC 333: Intermediate Accounting III
      • ACC 341: Fundamentals of Income Taxation
      • ACC 351: Accounting Information Systems
      • ACC 456: Auditing
      • BUS 221: Legal and Ethical Environment of Business
    • Approval of the program director
  • Required GPA of 3.2 or higher for cumulative undergraduate coursework
  • Required GPA of 3.1 or higher for Accounting undergraduate coursework
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate studies completed or taken

  • A completed application form with a $50 nonrefundable fee (online payment or check or money order made payable to Elon University)
  • Personal statement (included within the application)
    • Your personal statement should be approximately 1-2 pages providing background information, reasons you are interested in the program, and how the program will help you reach your career goals.
For non-Elon undergraduate students

Applicants that are not currently enrolled at Elon University OR have not received a bachelor’s degree from Elon University are eligible to apply for the Master of Science in Accounting program to begin coursework in the Summer 2019.
