Elon Class of 2026 Graduation Candidates:

With the spring semester now in full swing, Commencement is fast approaching! We look forward to celebrating with you and your family on Friday, May 22, 2026! There’s a lot of important information packed into this message about your Commencement, please be sure to read it all the way through!

As previously announced, two ceremonies will take place in Schar Center:

  • The Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and the School of Communications will award diplomas in a 9 a.m. ceremony, ending at approximately 11:30 a.m.
  • Elon College, The College of Arts and Sciences, the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education and the School of Health Sciences will award diplomas in a 2:30 p.m. ceremony, ending at approximately 4:30 p.m.

You will need to arrive one hour and fifteen minutes prior to the start time of your respective diploma ceremony to form a line of march.

Each ceremony will feature a message of appreciation from a member of the Class of 2026 and the Commencement keynote speaker, followed by the reading of names and awarding of diplomas, and charge by Elon University President Connie Ledoux Book.

I am thrilled to announce that this year’s keynote speaker will be Elon Trustee and Parent Patricia Chadwick P’16.

Grad Fair
Come to the Grad Fair on Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Barnes & Noble bookstore at 130 N. Williamson Ave to pick up your maroon bachelor’s robe. There is no charge for the cap and gown. You may also have your portrait photo taken by Phi Psi Cli for the Elon yearbook, and shop for commencement merchandise. Vendors will be on site to answer questions.

Family/Guest Tickets
Reserving your tickets:
You may invite up to five family members or guests to join you in celebrating this special milestone inside Schar Center. As the graduation candidate, you are responsible for reserving up to five tickets. You will receive further e-mail instructions on how to reserve and claim your tickets for family and guests. You will be able to reserve tickets from Monday, April 20 to Sunday, April 26. If additional tickets remain, you will be notified on how you may request one additional ticket.

Picking up your tickets:
You will pick up guest tickets at Schar Center Ticket Office from Monday, May 4 – Friday, May 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, May 9 tickets can be picked between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for candidates who are unavailable during weekday/hours, e.g., due to internships or student teaching.

 It is your responsibility to request, pick up, and distribute tickets to your guests who will use them on Friday, May 22. 

A live video feed of the ceremony will be available in Toshio Sato Commons for additional guests without tickets. A livestream for distance viewing will be available at www.elon.edu/live.

There are several celebratory events being planned for May! You can find a list on the Commencement website at www.elon.edu/commencement. Check back often! Information will be regularly updated throughout the Spring semester.

Elon Class of 2026,

As we look ahead to celebrating your accomplishments at Elon University’s Undergraduate Commencement on Friday, May 22, 2026, we want to ensure you have the information you need to plan for a memorable celebration.

Ceremonies by School or College

Details regarding ticket distribution, services, event schedule and other information will also be available in early 2026 on the Commencement website at www.elon.edu/commencement.

Deadline to Apply to Graduate

All graduation candidates who expect to participate in the May 22 ceremonies must share their intention to do so on the graduation application. If you have not applied, you need to do so as soon as possible by contacting the Office of the Registrar at graduation@elon.edu or 336-278-6677. Graduate Level Commencements

The Master of Arts in Higher Education, Master of Education in Innovation, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and Master of Science in Accounting Commencement will occur on Wednesday, May 20, at 7 p.m. in Alumni Memorial Gym.
