Dear parents and families,

I am writing with updates on plans for Undergraduate Commencement, which will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023.

Ceremonies by School or College

Ceremonies will occur in two separate ceremonies in Schar Center.

Elon College, The College of Arts and Sciences, and the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education will award diplomas in a 9 a.m. ceremony, ending at approximately 11 a.m.

The Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and School of Communications will award diplomas in a 2:30 p.m. ceremony, ending at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Students will report to their respective diploma ceremony to form a line of march one hour prior to the start time. Each ceremony will include both a student speaker and the keynote speaker followed by the reading of names and awarding of diplomas and charge by President Connie Book.

Family/Guest Tickets

The number of Commencement tickets available for family/guests will be determined after we have a confirmed number of students planning to participate in Commencement. We will notify you in an upcoming letter regarding the number of tickets per family as soon as possible after that decision.

Information regarding ticket distribution and event schedule will also be available on the Commencement website at www.elon.edu/commencement in early 2023.

Deadline to Apply to Graduate

All students who expect to graduate on May 19 must complete and submit a graduation application. The original deadline to apply was Nov. 4. Any student who has not already applied should do so as soon as possible. More information is available at this link.

Graduate Level Commencements

The Master of Arts in Higher Education, Master of Education, Master of Arts in Interactive Media, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Business Analytics and Master of Science in Accounting Commencement will occur on Wednesday, May 17 at 7 p.m. in Alumni Memorial Gym.

We look forward to making lifetime memories for you and your student.

Sincerely yours,

Jeffrey Clark
