In this course students explore techniques such as linear regression, curve fitting, interpolation, and solving systems of equations. They learn to choose the best method for a given data set and evaluate the assumptions and limitations of each approach. Using technology, students begin by creating and modifying variables and arrays in MATLAB, progressing from 1D to 3D arrays. As they advance, they learn to clean and organize data, perform mathematical operations, and create visualizations to draw conclusions. As skills develop, students manipulate and interpret image data by testing RGB values, resizing images, and reorganizing data arrays. These exercises directly address data cleaning, transformation, visualization, analysis, and modeling relationships. Achieves technology student learning outcomes a-e.
