Elon Community Garden

The Community Garden is run by Michael Strickland’s Garden Studio Class (ENS 220). Its goal is to foster engaged learning about organic gardening, heritage foodways and sustainable practices. Students maintain both personal plots and communal vegetable and herb beds during the semester, and Elon students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome to attend workdays and volunteer at the garden whenever they wish. People who appreciate the beauty and hard work that goes into each season are welcome to harvest from the communal sections after communicating with the student garden manager. This website hopefully contains anything and everything you may wish to know about the garden, but if not, please see our staff page. The Community Garden is a way for people to get connected, and beyond workdays, students also hold special events during the academic year including their annual Pumpkin Festival in the fall and their Strawberry Festival and Heirloom Plant Sale in the spring. We hope to see everyone in the garden soon!
