Garden Main Events

The Garden Studio Class puts on two major festivals each year to encourage Elon students, faculty and community members to gather together in the spirit of the garden and its seasonal changes. They hope to create a sense of community — bringing people together in ways they don’t experience day to day.

Pumpkin Fesitival (Fall)

The Garden Studio course hosts its annual Fall Pumpkin Festival at the end of October in honor of traditional harvest festivals. Fall baked goods are provided, along with student musical entertainment, face painting, pumpkin carving, apple bobbing and dream-catcher making. Bring friends, a ukulele, a hula-hoop, or a dog and hang out in an amazing place with amazing people. Pumpkin Festival Banner.

Strawberry Festival (Spring)

The Garden Studio course hosts its annual Spring Strawberry Festival in the beginning of May. Strawberry-themed baked goods are provided, along with student musical entertainment, face painting, a photo booth and dancing — so much dancing. A highlight of this event is the heirloom plant sale, where student-grown plants are sold for community member summer gardens. They specialize in rare tomatoes, peppers, exotic basils and other plants people won’t find at their local garden supply store. Come learn more about the garden and how you can engage in daily sustainable living practices as well as getting to know your fellow students, faculty and community members.
