Campus Delay Fall or Spring Semester Plan
Faculty are encouraged to take full advantage of online tools like Moodle and email to help students prepare appropriately for the next class and to communicate clearly how they will maintain high expectations, despite calendar changes.
If Elon does not operate on the university’s normal spring or fall semester schedule, one of the following plans will be initiated:
Undergraduate Classes
The 10 AM Plan
- Campus opens at 10 a.m.
- Classes with a start time before 10 a.m. are canceled; class that start at 10 a.m. or later are held according to schedule.
- All emergency personnel report to campus by 7:30 a.m.
- Other personnel report by 10 a.m.
Undergraduate Class and Laboratory Schedule
In-person undergraduate classes and labs with start times before 10 a.m. are cancelled; classes and labs that begin at 10 a.m. or later will be held according to schedule. Students should check with instructors of any canceled in-person class meetings or labs for further information about alternative plans, which could include the option for online meetings during the scheduled class time, out-of-class activities, readings, or other assignments.
The Noon Plan
- Open at 12 p.m.
- Classes with a start time before 12 p.m. are canceled; classes that start at 12 p.m. or later are held according to schedule.
- All emergency personnel report to campus by 8 a.m.
- Other personnel report by 12 p.m.

When campus operations are delayed, the Law School and graduate program directors will communicate directly with students and faculty about class schedules for their respective law and graduate programs.
