FAQ
FAQ
Why don't I see my courses in Canvas yet?
Instructors decide when to make their courses available to students, so courses may appear at different times. Many instructors publish their courses shortly before the semester begins, while others may choose to publish later. If you don’t see a course after classes have started, we recommend contacting your instructor first.
Do I need the mobile app?
No. Canvas works well in a web browser, but many students find the Canvas Student app helpful for quick access to course materials, assignments, grades, announcements, and messages from instructors. You can also submit assignments through the mobile app when appropriate.
How can I learn to use Canvas?
Passport to Canvas is a self-paced course designed specifically for Elon students. It introduces the basics of Canvas and provides a great place to become familiar with the platform before classes begin.
Can I still use Moodle?
Summer 2026 courses will continue in Moodle, and students will begin using Canvas for coursework in August 2026. Student access to Moodle is expected to end on October 23 2026. If there are files or projects you would like to keep, we encourage you to download them before access ends.
