As many of you are well aware, Haiti is currently experiencing a disaster that has never been experienced before. On January 12, 2010 an earthquake hit the country populated by millions and brought along with it disaster; homes have fallen, people are dying and even the great palace (the equivalent to the White House) has crumbled to pieces.
The Omicron Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will be accepting donations (including summer clothes) at our party this weekend. All financial proceeds will go to YELE Haiti. The chapter will also be contributing to this cause.
The chapter encourages anyone trying to help in such a time of need and has identified foundations that are currently seeking to relieve some of the problems Haiti is currently facing. Ways to offer assistance include:
-Text ‘YELE’ to 501501 to donate $5. (this charge will appear on your phone bill)
-Text ‘Haiti’ to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross (which is also helping as it pertains to relief)
