Internship in Office of Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability is seeking a Green Building Education Intern for the 2011-2012 academic year. The primary responsibility of this position is to create educational materials such as pamphlets, information sheets, green living guides (for residential buildings), web site content, tour guide scripts, etc. for the green buildings being built on campus, which are pursuing LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. He/she will work closely with the Director of Sustainability, other Office of Sustainability Interns and the Eco-Reps (student peer-educators for sustainability). The Intern will also help plan and implement other sustainability education and outreach programs on campus and collaborate with the Physical Plant to disseminate information and feedback on energy and water consumption in LEED buildings.

This position requires excellent communication skills – oral and written, creativity, superb organizational skills, strong research skills, strong publication design skills, self-motivation, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe (or other graphics software) applications and environmental interest and knowledge. Previous experience with creating educational/marketing materials (or related course work) is desired but not required.
