Buffie Longmire-Avital Presents Research Poster at the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality

Buffie Longmire-Avital, an assistant professor in psychology presented her research poster titled "Why Compromise (?): Assessing Sexually Risky Decisions for Heterosexual Black American Women," at the annual conference for The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality in Houston Texas, Nov. 3 - 5.

The research presented examined how knowledge of male partner’s STD history, depression and perceived inability to find a “good” male partner were predictive of self-reported compromise in dating behavior over the last 12 months. Funding for this research was through the Hultquist New Faculty Research award.
