Film screening, “The Last Survivor”, April 18, part of Holocaust Week

THE LAST SURVIVOR will be screened on Wednesday, April 18, 7:00pm, in McEwen 011.

The Last Survivor is an award-winning, feature-length documentary that follows the lives of survivors of four different genocides and mass atrocities – The Holocaust, Rwanda, Darfur, and Congo. This event is co-sponsored by Amnesty International, and is made possible with funding from a Holocaust Fund established by Maia Szulik ’15.

The screening is part of Holocaust Remembrance Week at Elon University. Thursday, April 19, is the internationally recognized date for Holocaust Remembrance. The date comes from the Hebrew calendar and corresponds to the 27th day of Nisan on that calendar. It marks the anniversary of the Warsaw ghetto uprising. In Hebrew, Holocaust Remembrance Day is called Yom Hashoah.
