The 1,500 students who comprise Elon University’s Class of 2018 arrived on campus from across the nation Friday to meet roommates and forge friendships as they embark on their collegiate journey.
Under a blistering sun that baked North Carolina on one of the hottest days of the summer, freshmen and their families lined the roads surrounding Elon’s residential neighborhoods well before an official 8 a.m. start time that saw university faculty, staff, students and administrators welcome the new arrivals and help them settle into the place they’ll call home through late May.
