School of Communications leads nation in number of UNC PhDs

As part of its 2016 Spring Research Colloquium, the UNC School of Media and Journalism has planned a two-day celebration on April 21-22 commemorating more than a half-century of doctoral education in mass communication.

While researching the academic homes of its Ph.D. graduates, UNC learned that 13 Elon faculty members earned doctorates from UNC’s School of Media and Journalism (formerly the School of Journalism and Mass Communication). This is more than any other institution in the nation.
