In an effort to promote early interest in college for young students, 119 third graders from Hillcrest Elementary School participated in tours and simulations at the Cable School, a restored schoolhouse located behind Rhodes Stadium.
During their visit, the students learned what school and learning was like in the 1850s. The third graders interacted with student-athletes in the Alumni Field House by participating in a Q & A session. In addition, Elon University Odyssey scholars, staff from the Center for Access and Success, faculty, and students from the School of Education lead students in tours around campus.
