#MeToo & You: Shifting Society & Campus Culture – March 1

This event will explore the #MeToo movement that has swept into the country's consciousness during the past year. The event is March 1 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the McBride Gathering Space.

Sexual harassment has risen to the forefront of the nation’s consciousness with high-profile cases in powerfully influential contexts such as politics, athletics, and Hollywood.

Attendees will hear perspectives on disclosures, accountability, erasure, and media responses and then engage with campus experts and each other through table discussions. This session promises to build an understanding of the complexity of sexism and violence in our culture to find real ways to contribute to a culture free from these abuses of power. Speakers include Professor of Philosophy Ann Cahill, Director of Inclusive Community Development Leigh-Anne Royster, Director of the Genert and LGBTQIA Center Matthew Antonio Bosch and Camilla Brewer, coordinator for the Geneer and LGBTQIA Center and the Danieley Center Neighborhood.
