The men's and women's soccer teams are participating in global experiences during Spring Break as part of Elon's commitment to offering student-athletes the opportunity to be globally engaged.
Members of Elon's men's and women's soccer teams and its men's cross country team are spending Spring Break traveling and learning as part of a commitment to offering student-athletes a global experience during their time at the university.
The Elon University men's soccer team is in Spain and Portgual, where they will be taking the course "Portgual/Spain: Global Exploration" led by Eric Hall, professor of exercise science. The team will compete against Portuguese and Spanish club teams during their time in Europe.
Members of the men's soccer team will be blogging about the experience throughout the week, and readers can keep up with their experiences here. They will also be posting to the program's Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts.
With the men's cross country team making this trip, every Elon Athletics program has now participated in a study abroad trip as part of the Elon Commitment.
"We have taken great pride over the years here at Elon in becoming the leading institution for undergraduate study abroad," said Elon Director of Athletics Dave Blank. "This is one of the high priorities for our institution and we are thrilled to have developed a program in which all 17 of our teams have the chance to study abroad during their four years here at Elon. Our commitment to study abroad is one of many facets that makes being a student-athlete at Elon so special and we're excited to consistently give our athletes this life-changing opportunity."
