Curious about the Tokyo Olympics commute? Watch Max Negin’s Peep make the trek

The stuffed version of the iconic marshmallow treat has accompanied Assistant Professor Max Negin to multiple Olympic Games through the years.

During many of the seven Olympics that Elon’s Max Negin has worked as part of the NBC Sports broadcast team, he’s had a companion steadily by his side — Peep.

The assistant professor of cinema and television arts professor has taken along a stuffed polka-dotted version of the iconic marshmallow treat with him, in part as entertainment for his kids. He’s snapped photos of Peep from throughout Olympic villages during multiple Olympic Games Negin has attended since his first one in Beijing in 2008. It’s been a fun way to share the experience with his family and friends, with posts along the way on his Instagram account.

Wanting to share more about the unique experience in Tokyo this summer, Negin recently created a video of Peep making the commute from their hotel room to the NBC broadcast offices, offering an insider’s look at what it’s like to be working the Olympic Games during a global pandemic.
