Elon in Charlotte students visit Charlotte Hornets

The cohort of 12 undergraduate students has been studying in Charlotte since August, as part of the Elon in Charlotte: The Sport Experience program, which has allowed them to attend over 15 enrichment activities and converse with over 40 alumni these past four months.  

Elon in Charlotte students recently attended a Charlotte Hornets game and listened to a panel presentation featuring Elon alumni. Ross Goldfarb ’18, a digital designer, and Meme Garner ’18, the manager of business operations at Hornets Venom GT, their eSports division, spoke to students about their professional journeys and what it is like working in the sports industry.

The students were also taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Spectrum Center and joined 50 Elon alumni to watch the Hornets play the Miami Heat during the NBA In-Season Tournament.

Through participation in Study USA programs like Elon in Charlotte, students gain access to special opportunities. In addition to enrichment activities and opportunities to meet alumni, all participating students take part in an internship where they build a network of industry professionals and apply what they are learning in the classroom to a professional setting.
