Assistant Dean of Global Education and Professor of Economics Mark Kurt discussed the labor market and what he expects to see in 2025.
Mark Kurt, assistant dean of global education and professor of economics at Elon University, spoke with WalletHub in their report on the best cities for jobs.
Kurt gave his predictions for the labor market in 2025 and also noted why fewer people are moving across state lines in search of work.
“Over the past five years, the dramatic rise in remote and hybrid work options has expanded the range of job opportunities available locally, reducing the need to relocate,” Kurt told WalletHub. “Simultaneously, sustained increases in interest rates have raised the opportunity cost of moving, particularly for those with low-interest mortgages.”
