In addition to this recognition, ENN earned seven other individual and organizational Apple Awards, highlighting excellence in crisis coverage, opinion writing, photography, and multimedia journalism.

Elon News Network, Elon University’s student-run news organization, was recognized with the College Media Association’s top honor – the Big Apple Award – at the National College Media Convention in New York on March 1. The award recognizes the single best student news organization among schools with an enrollment of 3,000-9,999 students.

ENN also earned seven other individual and organizational Apple Awards, including first place in crisis coverage for its reporting on Hurricane Helene.
This year’s awards contest included hundreds of entries from college media outlets from across the country. Below is a list of the Elon winners.

Elon students attending the National College Media Convention included Charlotte Pfabe ’27, Lilliana Molina ’27, Kathan Gandhi ’27 and Miles Hayford ’27. They were accompanied by Kelly Furnas, senior lecturer in journalism and ENN adviser.
Elon News Network is a student-run news organization covering Elon University and the broader Alamance County community. Elon students can join ENN regardless of their experience level, major or year in school.
