December brought the fall 2025 semester to a close, with a multitude of holiday celebrations and commencement ceremonies that honored graduates in the School of Health Sciences and the School of Law.

Hang 10 Holiday
Students celebrated the holidays with Elon University President Connie Ledoux Book during the annual Student Holiday Party, which featured a surfing simulator, at The Inn at Elon.

Many lights on one night
The Elon community came together on Dec. 4 for the annual Festival of Lights and Luminaries, under the theme of “Many Lights on One Night.” The event invites students, faculty, staff and neighbors to explore the wide range of religious, spiritual, ethical and cultural traditions and worldviews represented at Elon through interactive and educational stations spread out across campus.

Celebrating together
Elon University held its winter commencement ceremonies on Dec. 12, honoring graduates in the School of Health Sciences and School of Law.
On Dec. 11, Elon hosted affinity celebrations on Dec. 11, including Lavender Graduation, ¡Celebremos! and Donning of the Kente. Coordinated by the Division of Inclusive Excellence with support from additional university offices and programs, the three affinity celebrations inside the Lakeside Meeting Room honored and recognized the rich histories and cultures of Elon’s community.




Doggy diploma
Jordan Holloway L’25 and his service dog, Kai, took the stage during the School of Law commencement on Dec. 12 in Alumni Gym. Dean Zak Kramer conferred Kai an honorary diploma for completing law school, drawing cheers and laughs from the audience.
