The program takes place at a major IT technical center operated by Fidelity in Research Triangle Park. 

Dave Powell presented a paper co-authored with Joel Hollingsworth titled "Improving a Computer Science I Course with Flipped Instruction and Faculty Guides" at The 2015 International Conference on Frontiers in Education: Computer Science and Computer Engineering held from July 27-30, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

Dave Powell presented a paper co-authored with Joel Hollingsworth titled "Seeding the Cloud with Students from Every Computer Science Undergraduate Program" at the 15th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems held from July 4-7, 2013 in Angers, France.

On July 17, 2012, David Powell presented a paper co-authored with Joel Hollingsworth titled "Google and IBM Clouds Make Enterprise Computing Available to all Undergraduate CS Majors" at The 2012 International Conference on Frontiers in Education: Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

Dave Powell gave an invited presentation in the Academic Track at IBM Software Innovate 2012.

On August 26, 2011, Professors Joel Hollingsworth and Dave Powell had the opportunity to visit Credit Suisse in RTP, North Carolina.

Dave Powell was selected to participate in the annual reading and scoring of the College Board's Advanced Placement Examination in AP Computer Science in Cincinnati from June 2 - June 8, 2011.

During the past few years, there has been explosive growth in the use of computer software throughout the medical profession. Michele is an expert on databases, project management and human computer interaction, During her sabbatical she will explore the applications of her expertise within a Health Informatics Context.
