Elon junior receives Newman Civic Fellows Award from Campus Compact

Elon University junior Amber Mathis has received a Newman Civic Fellows Award from Campus Compact, a national organization that aims to improve community life and to educate college students on civic and social responsibility. She is one of 135 students from 30 states to receive the award.

What does revenge taste like? Whipped cream, apparently. Dozens of students took part in “Pie Your Professor” at College Coffee on Tuesday morning in a program sponsored by the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Hundreds of Elon University students will be involved in activities during CELEBRATE! 2011, a weeklong celebration of student achievements in academics and the arts that begins April 26 and runs through May 2. Programs include seminars, art exhibitions, plays, a film festival, dance and music performances.

Career Services update: iMedia grads find success in careers

Last year’s iMedia graduates, the first from the program, have landed in an array of positions with organizations across the nation. Of the 32 graduates who responded to a survey from Career Services, 31 are employed full-time in a position directly related to their career aspirations.
