The grant from Penn State's Arthur W. Page Center will assist her study of how fake health news flows and competes with real news on social media.

The nonprofit organization presented its Bill Vestal Chairman's Award this week to Tammy Cobb, assistant director for community partnerships in the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement. 

Derek Lackaff, associate professor of communications and associate director for the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, will join the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the University of Bergen for the 2018-19 academic year.

L. D. Russell, senior lecturer in the Department of Religious Studies, has been selected to receive the Kathleen Connolly-Weinert Leader of the Year Award from the National Board of Theta Alpha Kappa, the Religious Studies Honor Society.

The grant will support a mathematics enrichment program for students at Walter M. Williams High School in Burlington, N.C.
