Campus Compact has named Lockwood a recipient of a Newman Civic Fellowship, which recognizes and supports community-oriented students and is named for Frank Newman, a founder of Campus Compact.

The honorees – young alumni who have achieved major professional success, serve as difference-makers in their communities and loyally support Elon as partners, advocates and investors – will be recognized April 30.

Adjunct Assistant Professor Nagalingam Sivayogan received the "Tamil Heritage Award 2022" jointly awarded by Carolina Kakaikoodam and the Academy of Kalari Adimurai on March 05, 2022

Vernon, a 28-year veteran educator with Alamance-Burlington Schools, was named the 2022 North Carolina Middle School Social Studies Teacher of the Year by the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies at their annual meeting on Thursday, March 3.

The university was one of three recognized by The Council on Undergraduate Research with this prestigious award for providing high-quality research experiences for undergraduates.

Colonnades, Elon News Network and Phi Psi Cli collect 11 first-place awards, as well as three Best of Shows, at the annual North Carolina College Media Association gathering hosted on Feb. 26.

Elon was recognized for the “outstanding support” of the Goodwill's mission, vision, values, programs and services.

The Elon University Board of Trustees met on Feb. 25 and granted tenure and approved promotions for several faculty members.

The former Elon women’s basketball team captain and current Milwaukee Bucks reporter was honored in the “Outstanding Crafts Achievement On-Camera Talent” category for her work with Bally Sports Wisconsin. The 2015 alumna made history when she became the first woman to call play-by-play for the reigning NBA champions.

Hunter is competing for the highly competitive national fellowship awarded each year to those with goals of working in public service or government. Winners will be announced by April 15.
