The Interfaith Youth Core awarded $5,000 this spring to professors Jeffrey C. Pugh, Geoffrey D. Claussen and Amy L. Allocco to help in the development of an interfaith studies course sequence that might also serve as the precursor to a future minor in interfaith studies.

Evan Gatti, an associate professor of art history, co-edited and authored an essay in "Envisioning the Bishop: Images and the Episcopacy in the Middle Ages," published by Brepols Publishers in their Medieval Church Studies Series.

Major General Sidney Shachnow will be speaking at Elon University to mark the conclusion of Holocaust Remembrance Day on Monday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m.

The world-renowned artist will share her work in the Numen Lumen Pavilion on Thursday, April 24, at 5:30 p.m.

A contribution to the edited volume "Asian Perspectives on Animal Ethics: Rethinking the Nonhuman" theorizes vernacular Hindu snake worship traditions in Tamil Nadu, India as a model for human and nonhuman animal relationships and a constructive environmental ethic.

Bart D. Ehrman of UNC-Chapel Hill visits campus for the James P. Elder Lecture in Whitley Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

"Solidarity Ethics: Transformation in a Globalized World" by Elon University's Rebecca Todd Peters explores the moral challenges of living in a global economy and imagines new ways of combating social injustices by building deeper relationships with those who suffer.

Geshe Gelek Chodha, resident teacher at the Kadampa Center for the practice of Tibetan Buddhism in the Gelugpa Tradition from Raleigh, will be at Elon on Thursday, April 3, in the Numen Lumen Pavilion.
