French Studies

The language placement assessment will be offered  for the final time during specific hours on the days listed below.  These will be the only times during the spring semester when the language placement assessment will be offered to current students.

This is the last testing time offered for the fall semester.  Testing for students who missed the Oct. 1 deadline of their first year will be available again on Monday, February 1 (the day before the start of spring semester).

At the SECAC conference in Pittsburgh, the art historian offered a glimpse into the previously overlooked artist's studio and its celebrated salon events.

The language placement exam will be offered for new students only during specific dates and times.  Sign up at least 24 hours in advance. 

Olivia Choplin, Meredith Allison and Jeff Clark were recognized during Planning Week 2015 for their accomplishments during the previous academic year.

A proctor will be available in Carlton 221 during certain hours on Saturday and Sunday, April 18 & 19.

On Wednesday, April 8, from 12-4 p.m., faculty members from the Department of World Languages and Cultures and representatives from the Global Education Center will be available in the Moseley Open Kitchen to answer student and faculty questions about language majors and minors, regional studies programs and global engagement opportunities.

Sophie Adamson, associate professor of French and chair of the Department of World Languages and Cultures, spoke at the spring meeting of the American Association of Teachers of French.

Elon University Assistant Professor Sarah L. Glasco’s first book explores the way a diverse mix of writers and artists shaped Jean-Philippe Toussaint’s stories and how the popular Belgian author references literature and film in his novels to expose readers to other cultures.

Members of the Global Neighborhood Association presented to a group of international educators at the NCAIE State Conference on March 13.
