The Elon alumnus, who was recently nominated for a pair of Emmys, shines a light on stories both on and off the court for one of the world’s best-known sports teams.

On May 17, the evening before their Commencement ceremony, 18 graduate students in Elon University's Interactive Media master's program virtually shared their capstone projects with professionals, faculty and staff, family and friends.

The 18 members of the Master of Arts in Interactive Media Class of 2021 were honored for their hard work and dedication to their studies during the program's Commencement ceremony at Alumni Gym on Tuesday, May 18.

During their May 14 presentations, three student groups highlighted their work with their respective North Carolina organizations: HeARToscope, Terra Cotta Heritage Foundation, and the African American Cultural Arts and History Center.

During the 2020-21 academic year, graduate students Matthew Harrell G’21 and Madeleine Horrell G’21 served as studio managers, ensuring that undergraduate students could broadcast and televise during the pandemic.

Eighteen members of the School of Communications Advisory Board met virtually on April 28 to discuss their professional industries, the impact of the COVID-19 vaccine and what future months will look like for businesses and organizations, and potential changes to the school’s curricula.

Elon will celebrate 2021 graduates through multiple in-person ceremonies with a limited number of guests.

During the 2021 AEJMC Southeast Colloquium, Meg Boericke ’20, G’21 discussed her in-progress research on how to take advantage of the video-sharing platform’s interactivity and combine it with established norms to better pre-professional and professional streamers' practices.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times Magazine reporter and 1619 Project founder spoke to participants about mentorship, the colloquium’s theme, as well as her journalistic career covering race, politics and launching the 1619 Project.

The three-day virtual event, which features numerous Elon faculty and students, kicked off with a moderated discussion with Nikole Hannah-Jones, founder of the 1619 project, Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times Magazine reporter.
