Elon University’s chapter earned a Superior Merit Award for efforts over the past year to build awareness of careers in human resource management while offering professional development opportunities for members.

The certification requires a combination of academic coursework in project management and the successful completion of a three-hour, 150-question certification exam.

The international business honor society recognized top-performing students during a May 2 induction ceremony featuring a keynote address by Christopher Craige, an executive-in-residence for the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, and award presentations to two faculty members.

With focus on waste reduction and in conjunction with the Campus Race to Zero Waste Initiative, competitors developed innovative products, services, apps, or public awareness campaigns in their bid to win a $2,500 grand prize.
