Trocki, associate professor of mathematics, has been selected as the 2023-2025 Center for Engaged Learning (CEL) Scholar.

The $377,800 grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute is designed to improve introductory science experiences for undergraduate students and increase retention of talented STEM students.  

The conference is an opportunity for students to attend sessions, network and visit with exhibitors to see what current K-12 educators are doing in their classrooms across the state.

Austin and Weaver have co-authored a manuscript published in The North Carolina Journal of Mathematics and Statistics that describes Austin's Lumen research.

Aaron Trocki, associate professor of mathematics, presented video-based curricular resources created in collaboration with Ted Morée at the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education Interactive Online 2022 Conference on October 6.

Barker and Doehler presented their original research related to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives Inventory that they developed.

Hwayeon Ryu, assistant professor of mathematics, published a paper in Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience on investigating patterns of synchronization and clustering in 2-dimensional inhibitory neural networks.

A pilot program in partnership with Accelerate Success supports female-identifying students in STEM majors through networking, mentorship and professional skills.

Annual awards for teaching, scholarship, mentoring and service-leadership were presented at the Aug. 15 faculty meeting for Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences.

Ten students participated in the National Science Foundation-funded 2022 North Carolina A&T State University and Elon University Joint Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) in Mathematical Biology.
