The conference was established in 2018 to give students from smaller institutions without the resources of major universities the opportunity to present their research and interact with students from other colleges and universities.

Hwayeon Ryu, associate professor of mathematics, presented and co-organized a special session, and served as a panelist at the 2025 Joint Mathematics Meetings held Jan. 8-11 in Seattle, Washington.
