Physician Assistant Studies - Elon

Members of the department attended the national Physician Assistant Education Association conference held Oct. 8-10 in Washington, D.C.

Elon's first-person consent donors make a profound and intentional choice to invite students to learn. These "silent teachers" have intentionally decided to continue teaching even in death.

Nursing, physician assistant and anatomy faculty members, along with anatomy teaching assistants came together to offer an engaged, interdisciplinary learning opportunity to nursing students utilizing the "silent teachers" in the Anatomical Gift Program.

Nearly three dozen local students participated in the two-week summer program organized by the Physician Assistant Studies program.

Physician Assistant studies recently received their first endowment, the Bo William Kopynec, M.D. and Susan Kopynec '81, PA-C, PA Program Endowment, allowing several students to receive scholarships to advance their education at Elon.

The Elon PA Program helped to raise awareness of sexual assault and attended professional development opportunities at the end of the Spring 2024 semester.

Faculty and staff in the School of Health Sciences gathered to celebrate the 2023-24 recipients of the SHS Excellence Awards.

Through the new partnership, students in Elon’s Physician Assistant Studies program will participate in hands-on clinical education at Novant Health practices and facilities in the Charlotte area.

Students complete an Elon undergraduate degree in 3.5 years and gain an opportunity for admission to the highly selective Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and Doctor of Physical Therapy programs within the School of Health Sciences.

Elon’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program and Physician Assistant Studies program welcomed new classes of students following a highly selective admissions process. The three-year, full-time DPT Program enrolled 46 students while the 24-month, full-time PA Program enrolled 38 students.
