Elon leaders share plans for 2008-09

President Leo M. Lambert and senior staff members previewed the upcoming academic year on Aug. 14 for university employees who filled Whitley Auditorium for the annual briefing. Senior staff provided a summary of recent work and initiatives planned for the next year.

Elon alum wins national scholarship

Jaclyn Marie Tordo, a 2008 graduate of Elon with a bachelor of arts degree with a major in human services, has received a premiere graduate scholarship from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation to help fund her studies in law and social work at Washington University in St. Louis.

Family Weekend 2008 to be held Sept. 26-28

Hiking to a 3,291-foot summit, canoeing eight miles down a river and removing an invasive plant species to help preserve a park's natural habitat. That is how 18 strangers chose to jumpstart their freshman year at Elon. Thanks to Elon's Discovery program, they are no longer strangers.

Elon holds 118th Commencement

Rain clouds gave way to a crystal blue sky as the 118th Commencement exercises got underway May 24, 2008, when bachelor degrees were conferred on the largest graduating class in Elon University history.
