Campus Compact has named Anna Gillespie '24 a recipient of a Newman Civic Fellowship, which recognizes and supports community-oriented students and is named for Frank Newman, a founder of Campus Compact.

Among the findings from the survey conducted Jan. 29-31 is that nearly two-thirds of N.C. residents support reducing penalties for marijuana possession and believe it would help the state’s economy.

Jason Husser, associate professor of political science and policy studies and director of the Elon Poll, offered insight for a recent report on the second impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump.

However, the survey of nearly 1,500 residents conducted Jan. 29-31 found many of those eligible to receive the vaccine have had trouble getting an appointment, and only 37 percent approve of how the state has handled vaccine distribution.

The most recent survey by the Elon University Poll found that nearly 60 percent of the state’s residents believe the former president is very or somewhat responsible for the violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
