Education Honors Fellow presents research at N.C. Reading Association

Kristen O'Neill's research titled, "Reading to Succeed: An examination of Interests and Motivations of Struggling Pre-Adolescent Readers," has been presented twice at the North Carolina Reading Association Conference, SURE at Elon, and most notably, at the Hawaii International Conference on Education.

Carol Smith co-publishes article on cooperative learning in physical education

Having watched physical education majors struggle with engaging students in a meaningful reflective process while teaching cooperative learning and adventure-based learning, the associate professor of wellness and her co-authors developed the "Sunday afternoon drive" debrief model to provide the framework for a student-centered reflection for upper elementary through university-age students. 

 

English Language Teaching Symposium creates community

The first Elon University English Language Teaching Symposium was held Saturday, Feb. 16, bringing together more than 100 local educators for presentations, active learning sessions and two keynote presentations by national leaders in English language education. The ELT Symposium focused on the theme of "Bridging Divides | Creating Community."
