The Sept. 17 article, "Why College Campuses Are Going Green," highlights how Elon is imparting lessons to students about how to care for the natural environment.

Students, faculty and staff joined in to pack 30,000 meals that will be distributed around the world, including those areas of the Bahamas devastated by Hurrricane Dorian.

The report by the local FOX affiliate highlighted the features at Richard W. Sankey Hall, which opened in 2018 and was recently certified as LEED silver. 

Sankey Hall has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable design and construction with the LEED Silver certification. 

Donation stations are set up throughout campus to collect gently used items to benefit local nonprofit organizations
