Jordan Ballantyne

Graduate Apprentice for New Student Programs :

• Jordan, a Boston transplant and New York native, graduated from Bentley University in 2018 with B.S. in Information Systems Audit and Control and minors in Computer Information Systems and Gender Studies.
• She is a member of the fourth cohort of the Master of Arts in Higher Education program and will serve as the Graduate Apprentice for New Student Programs. Jordan brings an array of experiences to the university and apprenticeship position, from coordinating and executing orientation programming to working in a supervisory role as both a student leader and full-time professional.

Graduate Apprentice for Global Education:

• Ivy graduated in 2021 from Warren Wilson College with a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology and minors in Religious Studies, Global Studies, and Interfaith Leadership.
• While earning her degree, she also worked in the Global Engagement Office as Crew Leader, Residence Life as an RA, and with First Year programs, as well as being involved with the work of the Spiritual Life Office.
• In her role at Elon, she will be assisting in both International Student Services and Study Abroad and is excited for the opportunity to continue down the path of Global Engagement in Higher Education.

Graduate Apprentice for Student Wellness:

• After much of her undergraduate experience at Siena College in New York working as the Student Wellness Coordinator to build the Health Promotion office and it’s resources for students, Kelsey is excited to begin her time with Campus Recreation & Wellness as the Graduate Apprentice for Student Wellness.
• Kelsey is excited to supervise the SPARKS team, Elon’s peer education program that promotes wellness and presents prevention programming throughout campus, as well as to support the building and facilitation of other resources to support Elon students’ holistic well-being.
• Her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in Health & Intimate Relationships will assist her as she brings her unique awareness and experience to the Elon community.

Graduate Apprentice for Campus Recreation and Wellness for Club Sports & Student Development:

• Toni will supervise the Club Sports team, work on leadership programming for Club Sport Presidents as she helps them navigate the management and organization of the team and provide meaningful experiences for their personal growth. She will also work on department student development initiatives.
• Toni is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Anthology. Toni brings a deep level of growth and understanding of the importance a student organization brings to a college experience. In her first two years of college, Toni attended Randolph Community College where she was the President of the Student Government Association and the President of the North Carolina Comprehensive Community College student Government Association. She was also an activate member of the North Carolina Student Leadership Development Program.

Graduate Apprentice for the Student Professional Development Center:

• Mackenzie is a New Jersey native and received her undergrad in International Studies and Political Science from Elon University in 2020 and worked at the Center for Design Thinking.
• After graduating, she joined Charles Aris as an executive recruiter but decided to return to Elon to future her education with a Master’s in Higher Education after realizing she wanted to combine her work in higher education during undergrad with her experience in career development.

Graduate Apprentice for the Center for Design Thinking:

• Cotrayia Hardison is a native of Greensboro, NC and is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke ’21, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
• While earning her degree she has served as the Student Body President, Student Body Vice President, LEADFellow, member of the collegiate section of the National Council of Negro Women, as well as the collegiate chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Cotrayia is passionate about making a difference and serving others.

Graduate Apprentice for the Odyssey Program :

• A recent graduate of Georgetown University with a B.A. in Government and Art, Martha brings a level of familiarity with both Elon University and the greater Alamance County community as an alumnae of the pre-collegiate access and success program, Elon Academy (Iota scholar), and as a native of Haw River, NC.
• Ecstatic about the opportunity to serve as the graduate apprentice for the Odyssey Program, Martha is looking forward to establishing deeply rooted connections with a brilliant and dynamic group of scholars, while also supporting their academic, professional, and personal journey along the way. As an academically talented, first-generation student with limited access to resources, she closely identifies with this underrepresented group and is eager to join the fight in dismantling barriers preventing equitable pathways to higher education.

Graduate Apprentice for Student Organizations & Involvement:

• Charlie is joining us from Valparaiso University in Indiana, where he earned a B.A. in History.
• In his position as the graduate apprentice for Student Organizations & Involvement, he will supervise the Student Involvement Ambassadors team that helps students find meaningful engagement opportunities, as well as provide support to the 250+ student organizations on campus.
• Charlie brings a variety of experience, including serving as chapter president of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, as well as leadership roles with Valpo Dance Marathon and TEDxValparaisoUniversity. He also worked on campus in the Student Organization Suite and as an intern in the Student Life Division.

Graduate Apprentice for the Kernodle Center for Civic Life:

• Sadie graduated from Clemson University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and religious studies. Before starting at Elon, Sadie was an AmeriCorps VISTA with Triangle Bikeworks, a non-profit organization in Carrboro, NC.
• Sadie starts Elon’s M.A. in Higher Education program in August and will be a Graduate Apprentice with the Kernodle Center for Civic Life. Sadie will advise multiple student programs that work with the local community, and also look to bring in more students to the Kernodle Center through her position.

Graduate Apprentice for The Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education:

• Odaly Rivas begins the Masters of Higher Education and I am the Graduate Apprentice for the CREDE as part of the MHE program at Elon.
• She completed her undergraduate at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she majored in Human Development and Family Studies and minored in Latinx Studies. She was born in New York, but represents Charlotte/Matthews, NC as home since that is where she grew up. She is a proud first-generation student, Latina, and Salvadoran.

Graduate Apprentice for Graduate Admissions and the Jo Watts Williams School of Education:

•Amy comes to Elon from the Ohio State University where she recently completed a B.A. in History with a minor in Higher Education and Student Affairs. While at Ohio State she was a Humanities Scholar, the student assistant for the Kuhn Honors and Scholarship Center, and a member of the Pay It Forward community service cohort.
• In her role at Elon, she will be an integral member of the team to recruit and admit students to the MHE; support M.Ed. recruitment activities; coordinate events; and advance program promotions, communications, and outreach.

Graduate Apprentice for Residence Life- Loy Neighborhood :

• Rebecca is joining Elon from Denison University where she served as a Community Coordinator and Fraternity and Sorority Life Liaison.
• She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Political Science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
• In her role as the graduate apprentice for the Loy Neighborhood, she will provide leadership for 192 men and women in Elon’s fraternities and sororities to build effective communities.
